North Marin Water District Division 5: Laurie Williams Leads Marc Lewis in Nov. 5 Count

NOVATO / NORTH MARIN COUNTY, California — November 6, 2026. Residents of the North Marin Water District’s Division 5 have a separate, local utility-board election underway alongside their municipal, county and statewide contests. The latest Marin County returns made available at 6:24 p.m. Thursday, November 5, show Laurie L. Williams with 1,622 votes (73.9%) and Marc Hunter Lewis with 570 (26.0%). The reported lead is 1,052 votes; these are unofficial results, not a certified declaration.

Why a water district director matters

Water-district boards make decisions on service priorities, infrastructure investment, budgets and rates within their legal authority. This is not a city council election; only eligible voters in the district’s Division 5 choose its representative. Countywide election totals cannot be attributed to this division, and the result does not predict water bill changes.

When could the count change?

Marin’s Elections Department reported 69,573 ballots counted and approximately 62,770 still awaiting processing countywide as of November 5. That large estimated countywide backlog does not reveal how many remaining ballots belong to Water District Division 5. The next county processing report is scheduled for Monday, November 9, around 3 p.m., with election returns updated by 5 p.m.
